Palau Güell (Güell Palace): Admission

If you love Modernism, don’t miss out on tickets to the Palau Güell during your visit to Barcelona. Built between 1886 and 1890, this masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí showcases the genius one would expect from the famous Barcelona architect. It was commissioned by the wealthy industrialist, politician, and patron Eusebi Güell, and visitors can enjoy the exceptional use of light and space, as well as the unique and expressive interior designs of one of Gaudí’s earliest works in the city. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 (Gaudí is the architect behind seven such sites!), the palace is less well-known than some of the architect’s other works in Barcelona, such as Park Güell and Casa Milá. Tickets to Palau Güell allow you to explore a marvelous Catalan monument that embodies the essence of Gaudí’s later works and is essential for understanding his architecture.
